P.E.R.M.I.C.A.N AWARDS NIGHT
They’re just four little words so it’s hard to immediately recognize the magnitude of the task that they present; because when it comes to the PERMICAN awards, the words “describe it to us” are a request to do the nearly impossible. It was hard to believe the PERMICANs were only in their second year, because from the high calibre of performances on the stage, to the design of the stage itself – a multi stage set-up with a mix of professional lighting, sound and audio-visuals – everything was top notch and state of the art. Even the Audience members came dressed to the nines in fancy evening dress.
Named after its renowned founders and visionaries “P.E.R.M.I.C.A.N.” is the abbreviation for the “Prophets Emmanuel & Ruth Makandiwa Invitational Concert Awards Night”. A ground-breaking awards birthed by Prophet Emmanuel and Prophetess Ruth Makandiwa to recognise, encourage, uplift and honour the local artists that are committed to excellence in the craft of Gospel music. The PERMICAN also coincides with the anniversary of Christ TV through which Prophet Emmanuel and Prophetess Ruth Makandiwa are impacting millions of people with world class Christian viewing. It is this commitment to excellence and this world class standard that permeated the PERMICANs and really shone through on the night, as everything about the Award show felt like stepping into another world.
