Speaking to thousands of young people gathered at the UFIC Prayer Mountain in Chinhoyi, Mr Simbarashe Mhuriro presented an inspiring and knowledge-filled session as he taught on how one can be an entrepreneur.
Mr Simba Mhuriro took time to share on how he started his journey of entrepreneurship; from working in a hotel up to where he is today and throughout the presentation, he took the young people through practical lessons and facts on some of the things he learnt through his experiences.
“What I have learnt along the way is to always look for opportunities in the face of adversity.” Mr Simba Mhuriro said during his presentation.
Giving reference to his own personal experiences, Mr Simba Mhuriro also took time to explain some of the challenges that come with entrepreneurship and how important it is for one to respect the process when pursuing anything.
“If it was going to be easy, anyone could do it.” Mr Simba Mhuriro challenged the young audience.
He also highlighted how important it is for young entrepreneurs to make sure that everything is done to perfection if they intent to strike successful deals with investors. He also highlighted the importance of the time aspect and building relationships even at the lowest levels in business.
“Don’t be quick to react to pain when things go wrong. Observe; find out the best that you can make out of your situation.”
Simbarashe Mhuriro is the founder and managing director of Oxygen Africa; a Zimbabwean renewable energy development company focused on commercial and industrial rooftop solar photovoltaic projects.
He is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council. In 2018, Simba was in the Forbes magazine of Africa’s Top 30 promising young entrepreneurs and recently made it to the Top 100 Africa economic leaders.
